The mission of the UNR Community Behavioral Health Collaborative (CBHC) is to develop a skilled, diverse, and community-oriented behavioral health workforce in Northern Nevada through innovative clinical training and professional development initiatives. We strive to:
- Provide intensive, hands-on clinical training experiences for behavioral health students and early career professionals in community-based settings
- Cultivate a robust network of clinical supervisors to support and mentor the next generation of behavioral health providers
- Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration and learning opportunities among UNR’s behavioral health programs
- Partner with community organizations to create meaningful training placements that expose students to diverse populations and real-world challenges
- Promote workforce retention by inspiring graduates to pursue careers serving high-need populations in Nevada
Through these workforce development efforts, we aim to increase access to quality mental health care for underserved communities, foster innovation in behavioral health education, and strengthen the overall behavioral health infrastructure in Northern Nevada.
