Find Quality Providers in your area
Search our database to find certified behavioral health providers specializing in substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health disorder treatment services.
Purpose of this website
This website is a database of behavioral health providers specializing in substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health disorder treatment services. All agencies listed are Certified by the Division, BHCEN (Behavioral Health Certifications for Excellence in Nevada, previously known as SAPTA).
Pursuant to NAC 458.103, a program must be certified by the Division to be eligible for any state or federal money for alcohol and drug abuse programs administered by the Division pursuant to chapter 458 of NRS for the prevention or treatment of substance-related disorders.
Providers applying to Medicaid to become Provider Type 93 (previously 17-215) are required to be certified by the Division for the levels of service the agency offers including a Co-Occurring Disorder endorsement. Providers offering DUI court appointed evaluations must be certified as an Evaluation Center pursuant to NAC 458. Providers in areas with a population over 100,000 cannot be certified as an Evaluation Center and also be certified to offer Treatment services. This excludes programs operated by an Indian tribe that provides services only to American Indians and Alaska Natives.
Other reasons that agencies who are not funded by BHCEN or are not a Medicaid Provider Type 93 often choose to become certified by the Division:
- Other Third-Party Payers may require BHCEN certification, thus it increases the agencies marketability.
- Many courts require BHCEN Certification for referrals.
- BHCEN certification provides credibility of the program compared to programs that are not certified.
